Lapis Lazuli

Wow, I’ve just found my Lapis Lazuli pendulum so I too wanted to learn a little more about this beautiful blue stone.  Lapis Lazuli is a beautiful blue colour flecked with gold (pyrite).  The name Lapis Lazuli is Latin for ‘blue stone’.

Historically, Lapis has been used in jewellery as far back as 3100BC and the golden sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen is inlaid with Lapis.

Lapis opens the third eye chakra, stimulates enlightenment and enhances dream work and psychic abilities.  According to Judy Hall, Lapis possesses enormous serenity (who doesn’t need some of that) and quickly releases stress, bringing deep peace.  Reading articles and books about Lapis Lazuli the word ‘self’ is constantly mentioned so this is a fantastic crystal for self-knowledge, self expression and honesty.

Please don’t create a gem essence directly with Lapis Lazuli as the toxic pyrite might leech out into the water.  If you would like to know how to create an in-direct gem essence, please contact me below.

I’m currently sleeping with my Lapis pendulum in my pillow case (after cleansing of course) so I can hopefully build a bond with the pendulum and I’ll let you know how it’s affecting me.  I’ll update my crystal journal and share my experiences with you.

As always, thanks for reading and any questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you below.

  1. A little update, I've spent the last 4 nights since writing this article with my Lapis pendulum in my pillow case. I've checked my yes response (anti-clockwise circles as I know you were wondering). My no response showed the pendulum swinging backwards & forwards. Being completely unimaginative I asked if the England football team were going to win tonight. The pendulum said No so we shall see.

  2. OK so the experiment didn't work (England won!). I do have an Amethyst pendulum so I'll give this pendulum another chance and if not, I'll try the amethyst pendulum. Have you ever used a pendulum? Any advice for me?
